How can a male reach high notes in songs when singing?

OK so as a singer I'm strong on the middle and lower notes but my
voice weakens as I try to sing higher notes. I want to be able to sing
at this sort of pitch http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RZ78AlHYXc8 (skip
the video to about 40 seconds in). It just annoys me that I can't sing
along to songs with high bits in them like the song I posted before.
