Lily Collins Reveals How Mirror Mirror Differs From Other Snow White Project
First Published: November 23, 2011 12:32 PM EST Credit: Relativity Media Caption Lily Collins as Snow White in The Brothers Grimm: Snow WhiteLOS ANGELES, Calif. -- Lily Collins takes on one of the most beloved fairytale characters ever in the upcoming Mirror Mirror, and she knows her journey as Snow White will be very different than Kristen Stewarts, who plays the same princess in Snow White & The Huntsman. Our Snow White starts off as the fairytale princess we all know and love and then she progresses into a young woman and much of a fighter, but its not an edgy version of the story or a darker version. Its very much a comedic adventure and I think the other one is a little darker, Lily, who has seen some of the other s script, told Access Hollywood guest correspondent Elizabeth Chambers during a recent set visit. The images of our films are very, very different, Lily continued. Theyre both kind of untold stories, so you know theyre different in their own ways. Lily actually auditioned for both Snow White roles. I did read the other Snow White script, she told Elizabeth, the wife of Lilys co-star, Armie Hammer. I auditioned for it, but Ive been so excited for Kristen. I think that story is so different than ours and the girls are so different. Shes perfect for her version, and Im really excited to be doing this one and I think they have totally different audiences. While Snow White & The Huntsman has offered images of a warrior Snow White, Lily too, in Mirror Mirror, has some fight scenes. This was insane training, she said of preparing for the role. Ive been fight training and fencing for about three months now I was kickboxing, doing some stuff on wires. Its been really intense. And all that training has left Lily a little worse for wear. Ive gotten a lot of bumps and bruises, but so far no bad injuries, she said. Julia Roberts plays the Evil Queen in Mirror Mirror and she brings her Pretty Woman beauty to the big screen. Julia was amazing Her laugh and smile thats classic Julia and she brings that to the movie, but she puts a twist on it because shes evil, Lily explained. Shes got that same Americas Sweetheart smile and laugh, but its so evil and its just the mental mind games and the eye contact and she was so gracious on and off set and we had a great time. We just had a laugh. In between takes shed be like, Im so sorry for being so mean, and then wed start laughing, she added. Mirror Mirror hits theaters on March 16. It's Bill Maher carrying out and Entourage's Jeremy Piven as emcee. Lombardo is assisting in a crucial time for that clinic. For the way the Top Court rules, healthcare reform might be in route. However the clinic feels it'll have a vital role serving individuals who fall with the cracks. Lombardo lately together with the clinic and THR requested him about its work and also the approaching dinner. The Hollywood Reporter: The reason for carrying this out? Michael Lombardo: To begin with, Ellen Hoberman, Dana Walden and Mike Fischer are enormously persuasive. And also the Free Clinic does vital, critical work. You will find a lot of causes available, however when you enter the clinic the thing is peoples lives being transformed. There aren't a multitude of locations in which you observe that for action. THR: You visited the clinic, what impressed you? Lombardo: What's unbelievable concerning the space could it be belies the misunderstanding of the items a "clinic" should seem like. I'd in your mind likely to something similar to County General. Also it was quite contrary. It is a welcoming, warm atmosphere where individuals are treated professionally. It's just like a for-profit hospital. THR: But it is a comparatively small charitable organisation. Lombardo: What's unfortunate is that they can't provide more. They not have the assets to provide health care to everybody who needs it. There is something like 3 million people who don't put on medical health insurance in L.A. County. THR: Does anything particularly strike you while being there? Lombardo: A couple of times per week they've volunteer dental practitioners from UCLA supplying veneers to individuals. Also, it's amazing the amount of folks this industry who aren't just writing inspections towards the Clinic but they are really engrossed. It can make me enormously proud to take part in it. THR: You've a healthy body coverage at Cinemax? Lombardo: Yes, we all do. But when I did not, I'd gladly walk within the Free Clinic. Venus in Fur
Nina Arianda convinces Hugh Dancy to allow her to audition for his play, and the two work up a bit of steam in the process in Venus in Fur.A Manhattan Theater Club presentation, by special arrangement with Jon B. Platt, Scott Landis, and the Classic Stage Company, of a play in one act by David Ives. Directed by Walter Bobbie.Vanda - Nina Arianda
Thomas - Hugh Dancy"Venus in Fur," David Ives' cheeky adaptation of Leopold Sacher-Masoch's erotic 1870 novel and originally mounted at the Classic Stage Company, improves a lot in this Broadway transfer. Chalk that up to helmer Walter Bobbie's savvy re-casting of one of the players in this two-hander: In his confident turn as a modern-day playwright-director keen on exploring the sado-masochistic sexual dynamic, Hugh Dancy gives hot co-star Nina Arianda someone substantial to play to. Play is still overwritten and pretentious, but it's a whole lot sexier with this well-matched pair taking turns at playing master and slave. Playwright Thomas Novachek (Dancy) disrespects the goddess of love from his first speech, delivered on a cell phone, in which he contemptuously dismisses the 35 actresses he has auditioned that day to play the heroine of his play. The crack of thunder and lightning that cuts off his call and dims the lights is a clear sign that this arrogant young man will live to regret his words. But the woman who bursts into the rehearsal studio is no angry goddess -- just another unsuitable actress, burdened with character props and furiously cursing herself for missing the audition. As deliciously played by Nina Arianda ("Born Yesterday"), Vanda Jordan is a caricature of the dumb actress Thomas has been railing about. But Thomas is something of a caricature himself, of the sadistic director who asserts his power over his actors by humiliating them. Vanda wins the first round of this battle of the sexes when she wheedles Thomas into letting her audition. It's a stunning moment when this dizzy creature drops the vulgar manner and slips effortlessly into the role of Vanda von Dunayev, the mysterious temptress in Sacher-Masoch's kinky novel and the heroine of Thomas's play. Arianda delivers the same quicksilver performance she gave Off Broadway, only this time she doesn't have to carry the whole show by herself. Dancy ("Martha Marcy May Marlene") has his fun with the insufferable Thomas, but he really gets into the game after Vanda talks the playwright into reading opposite her in the role of Kushemski, the masochistic aristocrat who can only find sexual pleasure under the booted heel of a dominatrix. Vanda is happy to play that part -- and she's got the boots to make a convincing job of it. Strangely, she also seems to have intimate knowledge of both the script and the character she plays. By the time she and Thomas have broken out the whips and dog collars, both Arianda and Dancy have worked up a nice head of steam. (Although whatever made otherwise astute costumer Anita Yavich think that zipping up a zipper could be as erotic as lacing up a leather boot?) But even at under two hours, the play still feels overworked, padded with repetitive seduction scenes and overwrought psycho-sexual arguments -- much of it delivered in stilted 19th-century locutions. Talk about sadism. Set, John Lee Beatty; costumes, Anita Yavich; lighting, Peter Kaczorowski; sound, Acme Sound Partners; production stage manager, Winnie Y. Lok. Opened Nov. 8, 2011. They fit as time passes Warner Boss Shaun Bewkes' intense concentrate on content and readiness to purchase it, something he reiterated a week ago throughout the business's business call to go over quarterly earnings. In the cost talked about, about $1.4 billion, an offer also makes financial sense, Bank yet others stated. A trader group brought by John p Mol and including Italy's Mediaset and Goldman Sachs compensated some $3.5 billion to get Telefonica's controlling stake within the "Your Government" producer in 2007. A contract will be a landmark inside a sector traumatized with a decade of crazy deals. The only real hookups which have come remotely near the coast size happen to be News Corp.'s purchase of Shine last spring for $643 million, and Scripps Systems purchasing Virgin's stake in UKTV for around $550 million. That deal closed recently.Information Corp. was forced through the phone hacking scandal that exploded within the summer time to abandon intends to get the relaxation of BSkyB for $12.5 billion. Rather, it introduced a $5 billion share buyback.Time Warner is in the center of its very own $5 billion repurchase. Buybacks shrink the amount of shares outstanding therefore it increases a company's earnings per share, and that's why traders love them. Companies often favor them once they think their shares are underrated, they do not know what related to their funds and they would like to make traders happy. What's secret is that Bewkes seems to possess gained Wall Street's trust to not pay too much. Several days ago Time Warner handed down Poland's TVN. Vivendi's Canal Plus has become in exclusive discussions to get the tv operator. "What's significant is exactly what did not happen," noted one analyst.
